A quick guide of how to install Google Chrome on Fire Phone
The default browser for Fire Phone is the Silk Browser. It’s quite OK, but it’s not Google Chrome to which most people are used to.
Do you want to have Google Chrome on your Fire Phone? No problem! You can easily sideload Google Chrome to your Fire Phone and use your favorite browser (together with your own settings and bookmarks).
Even though Fire phone by default does not support any Google apps (like Chrome, Gmail or YouTube), you can sideload all of these apps to your Fire and use them without any problem.
The best thing is that you don’t have to root your Fire Phone to be able to use Google apps on it. Let’s get started.
Allow installation of non-Amazon apps to install Chrome on Fire Phone
For security reasons, Amazon by default does not allow you to install non-Amazon apps (not from the Amazon Appstore).
That is why you have to set it up first thing.
You have to go to the Settings > Applications & Parental Controls > Allow non-Amazon app installation.
Take a look at the screenshot below to see how to do it:
Click on Allow non-Amazon app installation. Click OK to dismiss the warning.
Install Google Play services on your Fire Phone
In the case of installing Google Maps on Fire Phone, you only had to sideload the correct APK file and install it.
In the case of Google Chrome, you have to at first install four specific Google APK files (and Google Play) which will let your Fire Phone install Chrome.
You can find the full tutorial here: How to install Google Play on Fire Phone
All you need to do is download the four files (you can download them here) and install them in the following order:
- Google Account Manager
- Google Play Services
- Google Services Framework
- Google Play Store
When you are done, you can install Google Chrome on your Fire Phone.
Download Google Chrome APK To Your Computer/Phone
What you need to do know is download the APK file with the Chrome Browser app. You can either download it to your computer or directly to your Fire Phone.

Below I am showing you how to install and download the Chrome Browser APK file to your computer and then transfer it to your Fire Phone.
- Go to the APKMirror to download the Google Chrome APK file..
- Connect your Fire Phone to your computer with the USB cable. Copy and paste the downloaded file with the Chrome app to your Fire Phone.
Install Chrome On Fire Phone
We are almost done. What you need to do right now is:
- Install app File Manager on your Fire Phone to access and open the Google Chrome app you have transferred to your Fire Phone.
- Open the Chrome APK file and follow the installation instructions (like shown in the screenshot below).
Update Google Play services if needed
If you haven’t installed Google Play services before, your Fire Phone may ask you to update Google Play services and Google Play Strore once you run the Chrome Browser for the first time.
No need to worry here. You just have to follow the instructions on the screen (update Google Play services, accept its terms & conditions and add your Google account).
Once you complete these steps, you will be able to use Chrome on Fire Phone.
Enjoy Using Google Chrome On Fire Phone
You have successfully installed Google Chrome on your phone. You can now open the browser and see if it works. If you installed everything correctly, you just need to accept terms & condition, log in (if you like) and you can start using Chrome.
