Your Tutorial To Fire Phone Apps
Without doubt it’s apps that make your Fire phone roll.
There are about 250,000 apps for Fire phone available in the Amazon Appstore for Android. That’s a pretty huge number and it’s really hard and takes a lot of time to sift through all of these apps and choose the ones worth your time and money.
But… as I said many times, I’ve done all the dirty job for you and all you need to do now is enjoy the free content I’ve prepared for you here on Spin Your Fire.
In this section, I will give you a few tips and tricks on managing, downloading and installing apps for Amazon Fire phone. That’s not all!
At the bottom of this page, you can see a list of different categories of Fire phone apps. Once you click on any category, you will go to a separate web page presenting several top apps for your Fire in a given category (together with a download link). Let’s start!
UPDATE: I’ve recently finished working on my first e-book about Fire phone apps (click to see it on Amazon). Once in a month the book is under Free E-Book Promotion.
How To View & Manage Fire Phone Apps
I’ve tested and played with many different smartphones (those with Android, Symbian and Windows).
However, none of these phones was as easy and intuitive to use as my Fire phone which is without doubt the winner in this category. Here’s what you can do with apps installed on your Fire phone.
View The List Of Apps Installed
Unlock the phone and push the home button to view the list of apps installed on your phone.
You will see the list of apps on your Device and in the Cloud (associated with your Amazon account).
To come back to the center screen, push the same button once again or slide up until the app grid disappears.
Manage Settings For Apps Installed On Your Fire Phone
Here is how you can manage the apps installed on your Fire phone (e.g. manage settings, force quit or clear data, disable product recommendations, allow installation of apps not from Amazon and so on).
Swivel your wrist to access Notification and Quick actions.
Next, open Settings and go to Applications and you will see the following options.
To change the settings of apps, select the first item.
Depending on the app you choose, you will be able to adjust several different settings like In-App Purchasing, Automatic Updates, Sharing Your GameCircle Profile and many others. Here you can see the settings for Appstore app as an example.
Uninstall, Force Quit Or Clear Data For Applications On Your Fire Phone
Swivel your wrist to access Notification and Quick actions. Next, open Settings and go to the second item (you can see it below).
You will see the list of apps installed. To change the settings for each specific app, simply choose it from the list and you will see the options available (Force Quit, Uninstall, Clear Data, Clear Cache and Clear Defaults).
Easy Uninstaller Makes Uninstalling Apps A Snap
When it comes to uninstalling apps, I suggest you install a very useful app Easy Uninstaller which easily lets you uninstall any number of apps with just one click.
All you have to do to get rid of a given app is to open Easy Uninstaller, tick the app you want to get rid of and click Uninstall.

How To Look For And Install New Apps To Fire Phone Within Seconds
Fire phone makes looking for and downloading new apps and games extremely easy. All you have to do is open the left panel. To do that, tilt the left edge of your Fire phone towards you and the left panel will appear.
Choose Apps and you will find yourself in the Amazon Appstore.
Now you can either type the name of the app you are looking for in the top bar or browse the suggestions.
Once you choose the app and click on it, you will see its basic information and price.
To download or buy it, click on the orange button (in the case of free apps it says FREE and in the case of paid apps it shows the price).
The button will turn green and say Get App. Once you click on it, the app will start to download and install. You can now Open the app to see what it’s like.
Should You Allow Installation Of Apps Outside Of Amazon?
This is for you to decide, but if you are not an advanced user (or a developer), you don’t need to download apps from other (usually unknown) sources.
Amazon Appstore for Android is such a huge repertory of apps and games for your Fire phone that you don’t really need to look for them anywhere else.
That’s why I recommend using only Amazon Appstore and websites which let you download apps for your phone straight from Amazon (like Spin Your Fire).
However, if you are a more advanced user, you can install an alternative app store on your Fire phone (e.g. Google Play or Mobogenie).
