In This Tutorial We Will Learn How To Clear App Caches On Fire Phone
If some apps on your Fire phone start to misbehave, it’s usually time to clear their cache.
In 99% of cases, it solves the problem entirely. But what is app cache? How do you clear it on your Fire phone? Why should you do it regularly? Let’s find this out!
What Is App Cache In Your Fire Phone?
We won’t be digging very deep into the subject of cache, but we will explore it only with regards to Fire phone app caches. If you are interested what cache, caching, or cache memory is in computing, check out this article.
What you should know about Fire phone app cache is that cache is a kind of temporary memory in which data about the apps you use are stored. Fire OS is Android-based, so it works in a similar way. Even if you open some app and then leave it, its data are still in the cache memory.
The reason why data are stored in this way is to improve application performance and shorten load times. Thanks to cache, the app remembers your data (e.g. your account or preferences) or where you left the app.
Why Should You Clear App Cache In Your Fire Phone?
App caches make it very comfortable to use your Fire phone. However, as it happens in the digital world, sometimes some things may go wrong and the app starts to misbehave.
The first thing we usually do in such a case is to restart the app misbehaving. You can easily restart all the applications with one click using Fast Reboot app (click to download it from Amazon). If it doesn’t help, the next step is to clear app caches. In most of the cases, it solves the problem entirely.
TIP: Of course, if it doesn’t help, the final step is to either uninstall the app & reinstall it, or even restore factory settings to your device.
How To Clear App Cache Manually
In Fire phone you clear app cache in a very similar way you do it on any Android phone. Here’s how to do it:
Go to Settings > Applications & Parental Controls > Manage Applications.
Tap on the app misbehaving. Click on Clear Cache.
How To Clear App Cache Using An App
If several apps are misbehaving or your Fire phone is slower than it was when you bought it, you may think of clearing cache of all or most of apps.
Clean Kindle (click to download it from Amazon) is a simple and fee app for clearing cache & uninstalling apps.
The app makes the process quicker by automatically going to the app settings you were using in the manual method above.
All you have to do is open the app and choose which app caches you want to clear. This way you will automatically go the each app settings, and just have to click Clear Cache.
Of course, you can also do other things like Force Quit, Clear Data, or Clear Defaults.
App Cache Cleaner
This app also lets you clear app caches in your Fire phone. You do it in the similar way as in Kindle Cleaner. You have to tap on the bin icon, and when you are in the app settings, choose Clear Cache.
App Cache Cleaner (click to download it from Amazon) also lets you clear residual files (which may also slow your Fire down). I suggest clearing both caches and residual files.
