Tutorial Of How To Get & Use Snapchat On Fire Phone
Are you missing Snapchat on your Fire phone? Do you want to have it on your Fire? No problem! As you probably noticed, Snapchat is not present in the Amazon Appstore for Android for you to download and install.
This is one of these apps (together will all the “Googlewares”) that are available only in Google Play (and only for Android devices).
Even though Fire OS is not 100% pure Android, you can still use your Fire as a standard Android device with all its functions as well as sideload apps to it. In this short tutorial, I will show you how to install and use Snapchat on your Fire phone.
UPDATE: Snapchat is a Google app, so if the method below doesn’t work for you (i.e. you get errors from Snapchat), you should at first install Google Play on your Fire phone, and then install Snapchat. Download Snapchat To Your Computer
You won’t find Snapchat in the Amazon Appstore for Android, so you will need to download it from a different app store. I recommend downloading it from market.1mobile.com.
Just click on Download and the app will download to your PC. When the file finishes downloading, it’s time to transfer it to your Fire.

Transfer Snapchat To Your Fire Phone
Now, you have to connect your Fire phone to your PC (using a USB cable). Once your computer recognizes your Fire phone, open it and create a new folder. Move the Snapchat file to the folder. It’s best to call it apps or AKPs and use it for the apps you want to sideload.
Install Snapchat To Your Fire Phone
Once you transferr Snapchat to your Fire phone, it’s time to install it.
TIP: If you have never sideloaded any apps to your Fire phone, you will have to allow installation of apps not from Amazon at first.
To do it, go to Settings > Applications > Allow installation of apps not from the Amazon Appstore and change settings to ON. You will see the warning (like the one below). Click OK to dismiss the warning.
You will need some file manager to install Snapchat to your Fire phone. I recommend using ES File Explorer (click to download it straight to your Fire phone from Amazon).
Once you’re done, open ES File Explorer and navigate to the folder where you transferred Snapchat from your PC (in my Fire phone it’s in APK). Open the file and proceed to install the app.
When you finish, go to the app grid and open Snapchat. Sing in or create a new account and enjoy using Snapchat on your Fire phone!
Compatibility Issues (Google Play Services)
Since Snapchat is a Google Play app, you will see the notice like the one below. Fortunately, you can dismiss it (by tapping anywhere on the screen) and still use the app.
However, there may be some problems, such as, you won’t see the incoming messages unless you refresh. The app may also not respond or crash.
The good news is that it won’t happen too often and you can pretty flawlessly use Snapchat on your Fire. If the app starts to misbehave, it’s best to restart it (I recommend using the Fast Reboot app for it).
